The new Bundesliga 2 campaign kicks off in Germany this weekend with a massive fixture on Friday evening as title favourites Hertha head to fallen giants Schalke.

Hertha are the favourites to win this fixture but Schalke did claim four points from their two games against the Berlin outfit last season.

The Royal Blues have managed to bring in a few new faces during the summer and should be better this term, having been involved in the fight against the drop last time out, so they shouldn’t necessarily be underestimated here.

Ultimately, Hertha may be able to grind out a win but the best angle for our main bet could be focusing on the goals markets and over 3.5 goals has a chance here.

These teams tend to serve up entertaining affairs as both teams have scored in each of the last seven meetings.

There were seven goals scored across the two meetings last season (a 2-2 draw and a 2-1 win on the road for Schalke) and there have been at least four goals scored in three of the last five clashes between these two sides.

With both teams likely to contribute, they should be able to combine for at least four goals between them.

Hertha were far better on their travels than they were at home last term, picking up 27 of their 44 points on the road.
